Welcome to the Team
Hi Everyone!
I am writing this blog to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about myself.
My name is Laura, I am 26 years old and mommy to Logan, my almost 1-year-old son.
I grew up in the small town of Cobourg, generally known for our beautiful beach. Growing up I sang in choir, danced, and spent a lot of time working with kids! Everything form babysitting to day camps in the summers.
I moved to Guelph to go to University. I fell in love with this city (and my now-husband) so I decided to stay.
I studied Psychology at U of G and focused on Developmental Psychology as well as Abnormal Development. I worked at the YMCA-YWCA of Guelph part-time while I was studying (which is how I met Courtney!) and when I graduated I became Team Lead of Youth and Preschool, so I was in charge of planning most of our programs, from babies all the way to pre-teen. I’ve also worked for various respite service agencies for families with children with disabilities, had a placement at an elementary school where I worked one-on-one with children with various learning disabilities, and have done a lot of community outreach programs such as DASH, Circles, and TAPPS.
I started coming to Guelph Moms and Co when I had Logan. Our first week of program he was just 7 weeks old! He slept through the whole thing. As he got a bit older we loved the programs more and more. He became a little explorer! (If you’ve ever seen him in program you’ll see he loves to wander around!)
I am so excited to be a part of Guelph Moms and Co and have the opportunity to run these amazing programs and meet all of you!
